FAQs

Our research department is dedicated to making clinical research an enjoyable and educational experience for our participants. We provide exceptional customer service and attentive patient care. Our research coordinators have the pleasure of spending many hours with research patients and consistently receive high marks from current patients. Many of our first-time participants elect to enroll in additional trials.

Why does MLC/MSI participate in Clinical Research?

Clinical research contributes to medical progress and treatment advances. We believe that participating in clinical research helps us fulfill our commitment to be at the forefront of knowledge in our specialty. It gives us a better understanding of new therapies that could benefit our patients and potentially increase our treatment options.

How can I benefit from participation in Clinical Research?

Some individuals participate in research with the hope that it may improve medical care in the future, while others seek to pursue personal health goals.

Other benefits include:

  • Close personal attention from our experienced research staff
  • Improved quality of life through better control of symptoms
  • Comprehensive education about respiratory diseases and medical therapy
  • Defraying costs of medications and medical testing
  • Financial compensation for time, effort and travel

What are my rights?

Safety for each and every patient is our primary concern. Prior to enrolling, a physician reviews the patient’s medical history and determines whether the individual may benefit from participating in a specific study. Clinical research volunteers have the right to leave a study at any time and for any reason, without compromising or affecting their usual medical care at MLC/MSI.
