Bronchoscopy
MLC physicians perform bronchoscopy to evaluate the airways for abnormalities (such as infection, inflammation, tumors, or bleeding) and to obtain specimens from inside of the lungs.
EBUS
Endobronchial ultrasound (EBUS) is a specialized form of bronchoscopy that uses a technique called transbronchial needle aspiration to evaluate enlarged lymph nodes in the chest.
CT-Guided Biopsy
A radiologist uses images generated by the CT scanner to accurately insert a needle into a suspicious or abnormal area, allowing a sample to be removed for testing.
Thoracentesis
Using ultrasound guidance, fluid is removed from the pleural space (between the outside lining of the lungs and the chest wall), and then sent to the lab for analysis.
